ANALISIS FAKTOR PERILAKU CARING PERAWAT PELAKSANA DI RUMAH SAKIT UMUM DAERAH KABUPATEN KARANGASEM

Abstract

Hospital, as a healthcare center, plays a crucial role in providing care and health services to the community. To meet the expectations of the public regarding healthcare services, it is necessary to improve the quality of services provided by healthcare professionals, including nurses. Nurses, as an integral part of the healthcare system, have a significant role in providing care to patients. This research explores the factors influencing the caring behavior of practicing nurses at the Regional General Hospital of Karangasem Regency, a primary healthcare institution. The focus of this study is on the concept of caring as the foundation for the interpersonal relationship between nurses and patients, encompassing physical, emotional, and psychological aspects. The research design is non-experimental with a quantitative method, and data were collected from 53 nurses through the Swanson Caring Questionnaire. The results of factor analysis indicate that motivation, rewards, and various components of workload significantly contribute to the caring behavior of nurses. Although the majority of respondents exhibit good caring behavior, the increased workload can threaten the quality of service. Data analysis reveals a significant correlation between the caring behavior of nurses and factors such as education, employment status, promotion, and various aspects of workload. These factors also influence financial, interpersonal, and promotional aspects, which in turn affect the caring behavior of nurses. This research highlights the importance of managing these critical factors to improve the caring behavior of nurses, directly impacting the quality of service in the hospital. Recommendations include paying special attention to education, workload management, as well as motivation and rewards for nurses. These efforts are expected to enhance patient satisfaction and the quality of healthcare services at the Regional General Hospital of Karangasem Regency
