Abstract

Abstract

Safety driving is one of the driving safety behaviors that can prevent traffic accidents. Based on data from Kerinci Police, it shows that in 2021 there were 26 cases of traffic accidents and 7 people died. Meanwhile, from January to September 2022 there were 19 traffic accidents and 5 people died. This study aims to determine the factors associated with safety driving in Jambi-Kerinci travel drivers in 2023. This research is a quantitative study with a cross sectional approach. This research was conducted at Jambi - Kerinci Travel on June 24 to July 22, 2023. The research sample was the Jambi - Kerinci travel driver with a sample size of 94 people. The sampling technique used total sampling technique. The research instrument was a questionnaire. The data collected were analyzed univariately and bivariately using the chi square test. The results showed 53.2% of respondents had good behavior in the application of safety driving, 61.7% of respondents had a long working period in the old category, the average driving speed was 90.8 km / h, 57.4% of respondents had a good attitude. the results of bivariate analysis found there was a relationship between working period (p = 0.016) and attitude (p = 0.016) with safety driving in Jambi - Kerinci travel drivers. There is no relationship between driving speed and safety driving in Jambi - Kerinci travel drivers in 2023 (p=0.311).
