Abstract

Occupational stress is a condition in which one or more factors in the workplace interact with workers to disrupt physiological and psychological balance. The impact of this stress not only disturbs the worker's body but also affects performance. Based on an initial survey at PT X, it shows that the prevalence of worker stress is 60%. This study aims to determine the relationship of work conflict, workload, and working hours to the work stress of production workers at PT X Jambi Province in 2023. This study used a cross-sectional approach. The independent variables are work conflict, workload, and working hours and the dependent variable is work stress. This research was conducted at PT X Jambi on June 15 to 30, 2023. The sample in this study was PT X production workers totaling 66 people. The research instrument was a questionnaire. Data analysis using chi-square test. The results showed that 80.3% of respondents experienced severe work stress, 57.6% experienced work conflict, 69.7% experienced a high mental workload, 80.3% worked more hours. The results of the bivariate analysis showed there was a relationship between work conflict (p=0.013) and mental workload (p=0.000) There is no relationship between working hours and work stress in workers in the production department of PT X Jambi Province (p=0.709). It is hoped that the company will provide clear SOPs so that workers can carry out work by the standards of the company. develop ways or methods to control conflicts such as opening space to discuss work problems
