Abstract

Hypertension is a condition of increased blood pressure, where antihypertensive drugs can be used as hypertension therapy by decreasing blood pressure. It is feared that there will be interactions between antihypertensive drugs and other drugs. This study was conducted to find out the description of the incidence of antihypertensive drug interactions in hypertensive patients at Hospital X Jambi Province. The method used is a non-experimental design with a prospective descriptive analysis design. Data analysis was carried out using Microsoft Excel. From the results of the study, there were 42 hypertensive patients, who interacted only 2 patients of whom aged, >51 years and over, were present (100%). The type of interaction is pharmacokinetic (100%). Based on the potential interactions found, the interactions were moderate (50%) and minor (50%). Drug combinations that have potential interactions are amlodipine with tegrotol and amlodipine with simvastatin. And from this study, it can be concluded that there is a potential for antihypertensive drug interactions in hypertensive patients at Hospital X Jambi Province
